Sony Xperia Z3 Dual, Xperia Z1, Xperia Z1 Compact, And Xperia Z Ultra To Get Android 5.0 Lollipop Update Next Week

Keeping the promise Sony made a few months ago, they have started pushing the Android 5.0 Lollipop update for the Xperia smartphone series. The update rollout started with the latest flagship Xperia phones first and is finally arriving on the older generation models as well. A few days ago Sony teased the original Xperia Z running Android 5.0 Lollipop in a picture and now they have another good news to share.

Sony Mobile has confirmed that it will begin the rollout of Android 5.0.2 Lollipop for another set of handsets in the days to come. More specifically, Sony is expected to push the Lollipop update for the Xperia Z3 Dual, Xperia Z1, Xperia Z1 Compact, and Xperia Z Ultra next week. Following the mentioned handsets will be the Xperia T2 Ultra and Xperia C3 to get Android 5.0.2.

And once Sony is done updating the aforementioned handsets, it will push Android 5.0 Lollipop to the original Xperia Z range, which includes the Xperia Z, ZL, ZR, and Tablet Z.

Xperia Z3 Family Lollipop Update

The Lollipop update will be pushed in phases, meaning some users might receive the same right away while the rest will have to wait for another couple of days. On receiving the update a system update message will appear in the notification area. Tapping on the same will display the set of instructions required to update your device. In case you do not see the over-the-air update message even after waiting for long enough, you may try checking for the update via Sony’s PC companion.

There is a lot to look forward to and it is certain that the new update will make your Xperia handset even more awesome.
